The NEW Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400 f/5-6.3 offers the widest zoom range of the SL-System and combines high-end technology with all the advantages of a particularly compact and lightweight design. Its range of applications is extremely versatile. Above all, it shines in nature, wildlife, sports and action photography. It is characterised by its high performance and high image quality over the entire zoom and aperture range. The optical image stabiliser ensures blur-free images and the autofocus focuses precisely on moving objects.

The Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400 f/5-6.3 has an ARCA-SWISS compatible, detachable tripod base that can be inserted directly into a suitable coupling system without a quick-release plate. This provides a secure hold at all times when photographing or filming with a tripod. A lockable tripod clamp also allows the lens to be fixed securely at any angle. The clamp locks every 90 degrees for quick changes between landscape and portrait formats.

The new SL lens, whether on its own or in combination with the Leica Extender L 1.4 (Sold Separately), complements the SL-System, as well as the L-Mount portfolio, with a versatile, powerful and compact lens that captures images and videos in unique quality.

Ultra-wide-angle zoom lens

The Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14-24 f/2.8 ASPH. has a working range from 0.28m to infinity and an impressive field of view, up to 114 degrees. The Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14-24 f/2.8 ASPH. opens up limitless possibilities for creative visions in both photography and videography.

The Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm f/2.8-f/4 ASPH. is very fast and offers a large range of focal lengths. A close focusing limit of 0.3 meters at its wide-angle setting and a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:3.8 at the telephoto end of the zoom range provide fascinating opportunities. Its optical image stabilisation (OIS) compensates for up to 3.5 stops of camera shake.

Fast ultra-wide-angle lens

The Super-APO-Summicron-SL 1:2/21mm combines the worlds first APO lens with 21mm with latest technology made by Leica.

The 21mm focal length can be used flexible for several use cases -especially for landscape, interior, street and architectural photography.

Natural skin tones, smooth transitions into bokeh, exceptional contrast in details, and edge-to-edge sharpness are a matter of course for Leica APO-Lenses.

The zoom range of the fast Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90-280 mm f/2.8-4 follows on directly from that of the Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90 mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. Together, these two lenses cover a full range of focal lengths extending from 24 to 280 mm.

The newly developed dual internal focusing concept enables the fastest autofocus found in any professional camera system. Its optical image stabilisation (OIS) compensates for up to 3.5 stops of camera shake.

Of the 23 elements in seven moving groups, seven are made from glasses with anomalous partial dispersion for the minimisation of chromatic aberrations. The movement of the two focusing elements is provided by a newly developed drive concept with linear positioning of the lenses by stepping motors. The lens hood supplied with the lens. The lens also has a rotating, removable tripod plate built in.

The new Leica Extender L 1.4x extends the focal length of the Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400 f/5-6.3 even further to a range of 140-560mm. With its compact dimensions, it fits in any bag to quickly and flexibly form a powerful unit with the lens. Both the extended focal length and the aperture are written into the image data as usual, to ensure that they show the actual settings used. Thanks to the outstanding precision of its autofocus, it allows you to concentrate fully on your subject and the composition of a perfect picture. The imaging performance of the lens fulfills even the most stringent standards. Particularly at maximum aperture, its high resolving power and the pleasingly soft bokeh in out of focus areas isolate the subject clearly from its surroundings. Thanks to the consistent contrast rendition throughout the focusing range, this applies equally for all distance settings.

The APO-Summicron-SL 28 f/2 ASPH. combines a classic wide-angle focal length with state-of-the-art technology. The 28mm focal length allows for a sharp overview from edge to edge without distorting the perspective too much. The ability to separate the focal plane without loss of performance by using an open aperture provides even more extensive creative possibilities.

Picture quality, speed, and particularly important for professional use a robust construction are the main advantages of all APO-Summicron-SL-Lenses. The APO-Summicron-SL-Lenses were designed from scratch for the mirrorless SL-System. That means that the optical and sensor design, as well as the imaging process match perfectly to achieve the highest quality. They offer maximum detail transfer and pure colour reproduction from the center to the edges, over all distances and all F-stop settings. Its fast autofocus, robust design and construction and exceptional imaging quality make it an outstanding lens for reportage and a convincing choice for other areas of photography such as architecture, landscapes, portraiture and studio work. It is perfectly matched to the cutting-edge SL-System and has been conceived for a long working life under professional shooting conditions.

The universal wide-angle zoom
Interiors, group portraits, landscapes, and more: This Vario lens expands the options offered by the SL-System into the realm of wide-angle photography and ideally complements the existing portfolio of Vario lenses for the Leica SL.

In addition to excellent imaging quality throughout the entire range of focal lengths and at all apertures, the high-performance lens also offers simultaneously fast and quiet autofocus. This is driven by a specially developed focusing drive comprising a stepping motor and linear positioning and moves a single, very light focusing element that, due to its low mass, contributes to the high focusing speed.

The newly designed optical system contains a total of 18 elements in 12 groups. These include two asphericals for the correction of monochromatic aberrations. Three elements made from glass with anomalous partial dispersion correct chromatic aberration, while an improved mount geometry and high-quality coating ensure optimum suppression.
