The NEW Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 50mm f/2 Aspherical lens for Leica M-Mount cameras is based on the Sony E-Mount version released last year (2020), and has been optimised for full-frame M-mount sensors. Voigtlander only gives the APO-Lanthar title to high-performance products, those with ?outstanding imaging performance?.

Optically the lens is constructed of 10 elements in eight groups, with two abnormally dispersed glass elements and two double-sided aspherical lenses along with a floating mechanism.
